HD Revanna, Accused in Sexual Harassment and Kidnap Case, Taken into Custody by SIT

Bengaluru: In a swift operation, officials from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) taken HD Revanna, a prominent JDS MLA implicated in sexual harassment and kidnap allegations into custody, on Saturday evening in Bengaluru. The action followed the court’s rejection of Revanna’s anticipatory bail plea, prompting the SIT to swiftly move to former Prime Minister HD Devegowda’s residence to take his son into custody.

HD Revanna was promptly escorted to the SIT office in the city, a medical examination are presently underway at Bowring Hospital, said sources.

Plans are in place for his presentation before a magistrate, with the SIT intending to request extended custody for the purpose of delving deeper into the allegations of sexual harassment and abduction. Sources indicate that should the court grant custody, the SIT is poised to commence investigations forthwith. However, if custody is refused, HD Revanna may be lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail under judicial custody as per insider reports.
